INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS WARNING!!! This installation requires lifting of the motorcycle. Serious injury can result from an improperly secured motorcycle. Ensure that the motorcycle is securely supported during this procedure.

  1. RAISE THE BIKE OFF THE FLOOR WITH AN APPROPRIATE JACK/LIFT
  2. REMOVE THE SEAT
  3. TRIM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BATTRY BOX COVER OF(THE PART THAT COVERS THE HEAD OF THE SHOCK). IT IS EASILY CUT WITH A SHAP KNIFE OR A SMALL SAW.
  4. REMOVE THE REAR SHOCK BOLT AND FREE THE REAR OF THE SHOCK.
  5. BOLT THE TWO HALVES OF THE VN20-LOW IN PLACE OF THE SHOCK USING THE SUPPLIED 12MM BOLT,NUT AND WASHERS (TIGHTEN TO 43 FT LBS).THE THICKER END OF THE PLATES GO DOWN AND TO THE INSIDE, THE ANGLE ON THEM RUNS FROM THE FRONT OF THE BIKE UP TOWARDS THE REAR.
  6. BOLT THE SHOCK TO THE TOP OF THE VN20-LOW USING THE SUPPLIED8MM BOLT,NUT AND WASHERS WITH THE LARGER DIAMETER BUSHING BETWEEN THE FORKS OF THE SHOCK AND THE SMALLER ONE THROUGH THE FORKS AND THE LARGER BUSHING. (TIGHTEN TO 35 FT LBS)
  7. TURN THE SEAT UPSIDE-DOWN AND LOOK AT THE CROSS MEMBERS THAT WIL RIDE OVER THE SHOCK, THESE MUST BE GROUND FLUSH WITH THE SEAT PAN TO ALLOW ROOM FOR THE SHOCK TO RIDE IN ITS NEW HIGHER POSITION. THIS CAN BE DONE WITH ANY GRINDER OR EVEN BE CUT OUT WITH A VERY SHARP KNIFE.
  8. NOTE*WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU STIFFEN THE SHOCK SPRING PRE-LOAD TO THE STIFFEST SETTING TO AVOID BOTTOMING OUT.
